Terramuse Wellness Sanctuary was founded in 2019 as an organization dedicated to self-enrichment and land preservation. Our mission is to provide a space dedicated to guest’s achieving balance, a deeper sense of awareness of the world, and re-connection with themselves.
When you arrive to Terramuse Wellness Sanctuary you’ll sense the wonder of the lush landscape. Nestled in the Eastern Iowa Creative Corridor the space provides lodging and meeting spaces for people seeking an intentional get-away.
From a morning walk surrounded by 47 acres of native prairie, forest, and waterways, to moments of reflection in the library, spectacular farmland sunsets, and soothing evening fires, guests are enveloped in tranquility.
The sanctuary has hosted transformational events, educational programs, family events and holidays, corporate functions, wellness retreats, friends and daytime gatherings.
Our accommodations are comfortable and varied. Selections range from single or double bedrooms, group or individual camping, and optional yurt and tipi services.
Through gentle approaches Terramuse Wellness Sanctuary offers an oasis for relaxing into goodness, rediscovering a personal sense of balance and appreciation for the sacredness of the world within a beautiful and peaceful surroundings.
HISTORY OF TERRAMUSE
Terramuse Wellness Sanctuary was founded in 2019 by David O’Donaghue. He came to Iowa considering retirement from starting up elective educational programs in North Carolina, Baltimore and New Orleans.
Upon arriving in Iowa he fell in love with the 47 acres of pristine rolling hills, prairie, woods and waterways in which the facility now stands. He then imagined himself the designer and architect of a campus within which retreats, workshops, and family gatherings could be hosted. He was able to carry out his dream with an expert team of builders.
The outdoor sacred site spaces pay homage to spiritual traditions and travels that informed his own practices and interests.
David is pleased to share his dream with others and hopes that they find inspiration in their own immersive experiences.
